Software, scripts, utilities, examples, and source code made available by Vidēre Research may be intended for research, educational, experimental, demonstration, development, or informational purposes.
You are responsible for evaluating software before deploying it in your environment.
You should inspect, test, and validate software before using it on production systems or with important data.
Source code and examples may contain technical errors, incomplete implementations, outdated dependencies, insecure configurations, or assumptions that are inappropriate for your environment.
No software can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for determining whether software is appropriate for your security requirements and environment.
Before using software on a production system, you should consider appropriate:
testing;
code review;
vulnerability assessment;
dependency review;
access controls;
network controls;
backups;
monitoring;
logging; and
incident-response procedures.
Vidēre Research does not represent that any software has been independently audited, penetration tested, certified, or approved for a particular security standard unless explicitly stated.
You are solely responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your data.
Before installing, modifying, upgrading, or removing software, you should ensure that important information is backed up.
Vidēre Research is not responsible for loss, corruption, alteration, deletion, or inability to access data resulting from the use, modification, installation, upgrade, removal, or failure of software or services, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Some Vidēre Research applications provide geographic, mapping, navigation, positioning, compass, altitude, distance, coordinate, or other location-related functionality.
Such information may be affected by:
GPS accuracy;
device hardware;
magnetic interference;
atmospheric conditions;
satellite availability;
network connectivity;
map-data errors;
database errors;
changes in geographic information;
sensor calibration;
software limitations; and
third-party services.
Location and mapping information should therefore be treated as informational and approximate unless a particular service expressly states otherwise.
Do not rely solely on Vidēre Research software for emergency response, life-safety decisions, aviation, maritime navigation, wilderness navigation, search and rescue, professional surveying, or any other situation where inaccurate information could result in injury, death, property damage, or other serious consequences.
Always use appropriate professional equipment, official information, established procedures, and independent sources when safety or significant consequences are involved.
Vidēre Research applications are not a replacement for emergency services.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Vidēre Research applications do not automatically contact emergency services, guarantee delivery of emergency notifications, provide guaranteed location transmission, or establish a reliable emergency communications channel.
In an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service directly using an available reliable communications method.
Applications may use device sensors such as GPS, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, camera, microphone, or other hardware.
Sensor measurements may be inaccurate, unavailable, delayed, distorted, or affected by the surrounding environment.
Measurements should not be treated as professionally calibrated measurements unless the application explicitly states otherwise.
Vidēre Research software may use or connect to third-party services, APIs, databases, mapping systems, cloud services, hosting providers, or other external resources.
These services are outside Vidēre Research's control.
Changes, interruptions, rate limits, outages, inaccuracies, authentication failures, discontinued APIs, policy changes, or other problems affecting a third-party service may cause Vidēre Research software to malfunction or become unavailable.
Vidēre Research does not guarantee the continued operation or availability of any third-party service.
Certain features require an Internet connection.
Performance and availability may depend on your Internet service provider, mobile carrier, Wi-Fi network, DNS provider, firewall, VPN, geographic location, or other network conditions.
Vidēre Research is not responsible for interruptions or limitations caused by networks or services outside its control.
